Honoring 41: President George H.W. Bush

What a great 41st President George HW Bush was.  He will be forever remembered as a man of integrity and grace in all situations.  His final days were hard, but he gave special goodbyes and said he was ready to see his wife and others in Heaven.  I am not sure there has been or ever will be such a great man leading our country.  After private services for family and friends, his body boarded the train built for him in 2005 called "Locomotive 4141".  6 other Presidents were carried to their final resting place via train, but none of them on a train built specifically for them or that they had driven themselves.  To make the event more memorable, 4141 traveled the tracks from Spring, TX to College Station, Tx right in front of our house this afternoon.  I checked the kids out of school early so we could find a place to watch the train.  We brought our American flags, crazy socks, and hot cocoa.  We found a nice spot where we were about 20 feet from the train when it passed.  What a blessing it was to be able to wave our flag and pay respects to a great man.  We noticed the family inside some of the train cars waving back.  Once the train passed, the kids both found railroad ties and pennies that the train had smashed.  I have a feeling the kids will treasure the coins forever with the memory in their hearts.  I simply do not have the words for this moment in history and what it was like.
