Bear's gum surgery

We truly believe that animals are part of the family and we love our baby so much.  About 9 months ago we found out he has a rare syndrome called Uveodermatologic Syndrome (UDS).  In humans, this same auto immune disorder is called VKH and attacks the skin and eyes, thus causing him to eventually go blind.  He is currently on 4 different eye drops and 3 different pills daily.  The medications he is on to slow this progression have now caused other issues.  He had surgery today due to complications with medications causing gum overgrowth in his mouth.  His gums had covered his teeth and he had a hard time eating.  The surgery was to to cut back the gums in 4 quadrants of the mouth and was a success.  For now, we have a very loopy version of our baby back, ha!  The recovery will be a long 2 weeks with puree foods/medications, but at least he will be pampered. We are thankful that the surgery was a success and are faithful that God will provide healing without further complications.
