Today was a special day as it was Caelin’s first 5K race with Grampee. They had practiced training a few times, and Caelin spent the night with Gamee/Grampee since it would be an early morning checking in at The Woodlands. We were all there bright and early to support our runners and they both did fantastic. Grampee placed 3rd for his age group and Caelin’s stats were outstanding for her first time. She ran the entire 3.2 miles without stopping and said she “loved running past all the nature.” She finished at 29:17 (9:27 pace), placed 14 of 35 in her entire age group (14 and under) and was 2nd place out of the 12 yr old girls. As soon as she crossed the finish line, she was smiling and told Grampee to look for more races they could do. I am so happy she enjoys this and has a special bond to Grampee with running.
