Life lessons we learn from our 3 year old

- thoughts only linger in their head for a minute (if that)
- never try to rationalize with them
- bribery at times is not shameful, but a necessity
- a fruit snack will solve MOST any problem
- you will have days of uncontrollable crying. Nothing you say can make it better, just give them hugs if they let you and take it in stride.
- someday you will miss EVERYTHING
- they repeat everything to everyone, so be a model at all times (this is most difficult)
- their hearing must still be developing because their volume is set to "very loud"
- take a mental picture when they actually follow directions. Then you have something to remember the other 99% of the time.
- laugh...if you don't you will cry.
- always be scared if you hear silence for more than 5 seconds
- when in doubt, make animal noises
- don't take things so seriously, your 3 yr old doesn't
- God heals them very quickly
- even though everything takes lots of planning, it is the planning that helps you succeed.
- When telling you something incorrect, listen and then correct them once.  If they still disagree, give up the fight.  Otherwise, you will fight an endless battle of how horses with their ears up are called unicorns.
- LOVE life.  See everyday as a new day, and remember to be excited about the little things.  Things such as making cookies, picnic dinners, hide-and-seek, and reading a book are necessities.
