Parks family Christmas

This year, we drove in to Round Rock to celebrate Christmas with the Parks side of the family and also Aunt Mendy's Birthday!  On Saturday, we arrived and quickly went to the Blevins' to enjoy time together.  The cousins were looking forward to a cousin sleepover which actually turned into 2 nights, ha!  We did nothing Saturday night but sit around, eat leftovers, play games and catch some great football games on the TV.  It was a relaxing evening and we didn't even notice the time until almost midnight.  On Sunday the 27th we woke up and ordered the fajita pack from our favorite Lupe Tortilla.  We knew this would be a win-win as we would have this for a late lunch and then snack on for dinner with it having everything from fajitas, quesadillas, nachos, etc.  Between football, Mancala, and other games, we found time to open presents around Mendy's beautiful Christmas tree.  Nana of course spoiled the grandkids again with a gift they had been wanting.  Cade got a Lego Star Wars ST Raider Fighter set and Caelin got a Nintendo Switch carrying case for when she has enough money to purchase her Nintendo Switch console.  Caelin was the most excited because she figured out she finally had enough money between selling copies of her book (The Kindness Book...more on that later), saving money for the last 18 months, some money Aunt Mendy gave her for Christmas, and Nana's money!  Sweet Caelin started crying tears of joy when she figured it all out.  Not to mention she also has a carrying case and Gamee/Grampee bought her the first game for it.  So, it was a beautiful moment to watch.  Cade and Caelin also got small Rocketbook Notebooks from Aunt Mendy/Uncle Chris, and iFly Certificates for all the cousins from Nana.  Cade opened a last gift from us and was surprised to find the Exploding Kittens card set and Caelin was overjoyed again with tears when she opened her "The Krew" blanket from her favorite Youtubers, Itz Funneh.  It makes me giggle to think about what kids get into.  Ha!  Nana also spoiled Mendy and I with Starbucks gift cards and spending cash and the boys got some awesome tactical backpacks and gun accessories with spending cash as well.  We rounded out the gifts with a surprise trip for Nana for just us 3 girls to Gruene, TX for a wine tour, shopping, and dinner at the Gristmill.  We cannot wait to get that scheduled and have some uninterrupted time with Mom!  After snacking and more football, we tried our hand at the game on "Catan" before calling it a night.  It was one of the most relaxing Christmas celebrations when I think is what this time of year should be about.  Now we just need to be ready to celebrate Mendy's birthday tomorrow!
