White Water Rafting, Grand Tetons & Jackson, WY (Day 4)

Today we got up around 7:30 to leave the cabin for white water rafting and the Grand Tetons National Park. We drove 2 hrs south through the Teton Scenic Byway to Jackson, Wyoming. The kids were so excited for today! We rafted the Snake River Canyon with Mad River Outfitters. It was a level 2 or 3 white water rapids and a 2 hour trip. We purchased neoprene jackets and booties which helped since the water was 27 degrees!  Our guide Alex was super helpful and everyone had a great time. Caelin was a little nervous in the beginning, but then loved it and said her favorite was the deep drop rapids. Cade said his favorite part was the rapids that were longer and you had to keep paddling through. We also got a good laugh out of the surfers that were surfing the rapids on one of the strong areas called "Lunch Counter". We had a blast, but were all happy to be in dry clothes and headed to the Mangy Moose for a late lunch. Lunch was super yummy with Bison burgers, salmon, and Elk sausage. Once we refueled and had a Starbucks coffee run, we left Jackson Hole for Grand Teton National Park.  We were surprised that Grand Teton had so much more vegetation, tall grass, wild flowers, and bike trails than Yellowstone. We spent 4 hours driving through the epic Tetons and jumping out at numerous lookout points and Jackson Lake Dam. Lots of great opportunities for pictures, which the kids were super excited about. Ha!
